So you might be thinking – Who is this geeza Rhys?… Well Rhys tells you a bit about himself below

Let me give you a bit of background so that you can see where my passion and expertise comes fr

I grew up as a rugby nut. All I wanted to do from the minute I picked up a rugby ball is play rugby for Wales. Unsurprisingly, like the majority with this dream, it didn’t happen, and not even close. Throughout my teens I was a shit athlete. I was fat, I was unfit, and I was slow. A snail would have given me a good race!

This is where my passion for self-improvement started. I didn’t want to be the rugby nut that was just shit. Fast forward a few years and I lost a shit ton of weight and finally felt good about myself. It improved both my self-esteem and my rugby performance 10 fold! This is where my understanding of hard work, consistency and process comes from.

My rugby continued to improve and ended up playing a very good standard of rugby from 16 to 19. This is where I was introduced to strength and conditioning and found my passion for weight training. Because, who doesn’t love throwing around some heavy weights! Due to injuries at the age of 19, rugby really took a back seat. I loved the sport but could not afford the injuries anymore, I still was playing a bit but knew I could no longer take the sport as seriously as I was taking it before.

I went to university and gained a Bsc in Strength and Conditioning Science and then alongside this worked as an S&C coach at London Irish. I started with academy then progressed into the first team, I loved every moment of it! I then relocated home to sunny Essex as it turns out West London was fucking expensive!

I fell into personal training 9 years ago, as all my friends and family wanted me to coach them. I’ve worked in a bunch of gyms in Essex and London, but now run my own PT studio. In turn this happy accident was the best thing that could have happened to me. I love my job and without blowing my own trumpet it turns out. I am pretty good at it!

I have known Regan for years! When he asked me to get involved with Regans Rugby, I couldn’t say no. Helping rugby dads transform their lifestyle and achieving things they did not think was possible… no brainer right?

If we haven’t already met. I am looking forward to it. If you are as passionate about making positive changes, to your health, your self-esteem, your waistlines or your rugby. Then I cannot wait to take you on that journey!
